OTHER NEWS:
New Fields News The Town of Lebanon Recreation Commission, Town Planner and representatives from LCLL have been meeting to work on an Active Recreation Needs Analysis for our town for the past several months. The 5 year plan has been approved by Recreation Commission and has been sent on to Board of Selectmen and Board of Finance Members. On Thursday, the Board of Finance will be meet to consider and act on this proposal. The Recreation Commission has only seen a 1.7% budgetary increase since 1996, the year that the Recreation Coordinator was hired. In comparison, school and general town budgets have increased between 63-66% in that same time frame. Economic times are tough as we are all feeling the effects, but please come and listen how our town plans to proceed with this plan. The meeting begins at 7:30 on Thursday at Town Hall and this is the first item under New Business. A Huge Thank You to a Big FAN!!!
Thanks to Harry "the Grizz" Amberg! Long time Lebanon resident,
Harry
Amberg, has always loved "the game" and even has some minor league ball
experience behind him. This past season, he came to watch his neighbor’s
Little League game and was shocked to learn that Lebanon did not have a
place for spectators to sit. Thanks to his generous donation to LCLL, we
now have a great place to watch our little leaguers play at Aspinall Field
1. This project would not have been possible without the help of many:
The
Town of Lebanon, Tom Conley and the Town Crew, and the support of the Rec
Commission. Lots of volunteer work was involved in this project...all
through people coming forward to volunteer their weekend time and
professional experience, Lebanon residents and even neighbors from out of
town. Enough thanks cannot be expressed to all:
Bill and Joe Meese, John,
Jordan, and Colton Bender, Jim Zerio-the tool man, owner of Zak-Pak
Improvements, Matt McAneny, Lawnscapes owner, and his son, Nick, Sherilyn
Flannery and family, Scott McCall, Jack and Sue Bender, Pete Kegler, Pete
Haddad, Duke Ward, Randy Luciani, and Fred Spoerl. Next spring, watch for
"the Grizz" at your game, thank him for his thoughtful and generous donation
to our town, to our players and to their fans.
